This Distance Education Learning Center
is a cooperative effort between South
Carolina Educational Television, the South Carolina State Department of Education, and
the Kershaw County School District
and Lee County School District. The overall purpose of the Kershaw DELC is to provide
the widest range of superior educational and instruction programming to all of the schools in
Kershaw and Lee County. The DELC has several ways of meeting this goal:
Taping Center (ITFS Services)
The Taping Center enables the DELC to deliver instructional and educational
programming to all of the school within the Kershaw & Lee County School Districts.
The DELC maintains a library of instructional television programs (as detailed in
the ITV Resource Guide), and re-broadcasts these programs at times to accommodate
individual school needs. Kershaw County Schools view the DELC on channels 7, 9, 11
& 13; Lee County Schools view the DELC on channels 8, 10, 12 and 23.
Two-Way Video Courses
New for the 2000-2001 school year, four two-way video courses will enhance
the curriculum opportunities for the students at the high schools we serve! Kershaw
County's Camden High, Lugoff-Elgin High,
and North Central high schools, and Lee County's Lee Central high school will all be able
to access these programs! For more information, go to the section on Two-Way Video Courses.
DELC Studio
The television studio enables the DELC to produce programs specifically
developed to address the individual needs of our districts. Individual programs
(such as staff development programs or lectures from guest speakers), series programs
(such as supplemental instructional programs and addresses from district leaders), and
short distance courses may be broadcast live and interactively, and taped to be
rebroadcast later.
Video Production Services
Production services are available to all district personnel. DELC
staff will assist with scripting, planning, videotaping, and editing of video
presentations, including SACS Accreditation videos, staff and guest speaker presentations,
and district-wide events.
Video/Media Production Tours
Instructors are welcome to bring students to tour the DELC to see how a
small television station functions, and to learn more about television production and
video editing. Please call the DELC at (803) 425-7701 to schedule an appointment. |
