| Attendance
Policy Students must
give the school a written excuse from a parent, guardian, or
health practitioner for all absences other than those approved
by the principal.
A general absence must have a
parent note. Students will be allowed no more than 10 general
absences during a 180-day school year. High school students will
be allowed no more than 5 general absences in a course and no
more than 10 general absences during the 180 day school year
unless those absences in excess are excused by a written excuse
from a licensed/certified health practitioner; excused by the
school principal; excused for recognized religious holidays;
excused for serious illness or death in the immediate family.
Written excuses and/or medical
excuses for absences must be submitted within 5 days from the
date of return to school. Violation of this requirement can
result in the denial of course credit in a class. These excuses
MUST be submitted within 5 days of the absence to allow the
absence to be considered an excused absence.
If a student is suspended for
failure to show up for work detail, then the days missed for the
suspension will count against him as unexcused days and could
affect course credit. |
