Bridge Program

Bridge program is an intensive counseling program
designed for adolescents who are transitioning out of
DJJ back into their home communities and schools. The
Bridge Counselor works closely with the youth and their
families to prevent recidivism to DJJ.

Transition & Truancy
Specialists Transition & Truancy specialists
provide individualized interventions for chronically
truant students (K-12) and their families as well as for
students transitioning back into their home schools from
CLC. Their goal is to work with children and families to
reduce the number of unexcused absences.

Parents as Teachers
Parents as Teachers is an intensive parenting training
program designed for families with children ages 0-4.
Parents are taught effective parenting strategies and
are educated about child development.

Youth Court
Youth Court is designed to serve Kershaw youth ages
13-18. Volunteer Youth serve as the jury for their peers
who have committed a non-violent, first time offense.
The program effectively diverts first time offenders out
of Family Court and provides an opportunity for peer

Juveniles Experiencing
Excellence Program (JEEP) The Juveniles
Experiencing Excellence Program (JEEP) is a Life Skills
and Job skills training program for youth ages 14-18. It
focuses on preparing youth for real life experiences
that may occur on or off the job place. It also creates
internship opportunities where they will receive a

Summer Activity Programs
Summer Activity Programs offer supervised summer
enrichment for youth in grades K - 8th. Kershaw youth
have the opportunity to have fun and experience an
enriching summer at Camp Emmanuel, Camden First UMC, and
the Boys & Girls Club Camp (run through Blaney

Substance Abuse
Intervention Services (SAIS)

Insurance Accepted Substance Abuse
Intervention Services (SAIS) provides counseling in a
school based or office setting to adolescents (12-17)
who have a personal family history of substance
use/abuse or who are at risk for substance abuse.

Hand In Hand Together
Mentoring Program Hand In Hand Together
Mentoring Program is specifically designed and target
students in grades 5th- 8th. Students will be paired
with a well trained and caring volunteer mentor.

Safe Schools Counselors

Safe Schools Counselors provide counseling services to
youth of all ages (individual, family, and group
counseling), early intervention and prevention services,
and consultation with teachers and school staff to
advocate for and educate about the social, emotional,
and psychiatric needs of children in educational

After School Activity
Programs After School Activity Programs are
offered in four sites for elementary and middle school
students: Camden First UMC (serving Jackson, Pine Tree
Hill, Camden Elementary and Camden Middle), Midway
Elementary (North Central area) and the Boys and Girls
Clubs of the Midlands (serving Blaney/ Stover and North
Central Middle). Transportation, life skills and
academic enrichment through the Voyager Curriculum are
